You can receive money sent to you from home or elsewhere in minutes via the “Western Union” international money transfer service. It’s a simple system, where, within 10 minutes, money paid in to any “Acropole Exchange S.A.” branch in Greece, can be available to you in cash through a corresponding Western Union agent in whatever country you happen to be in.

Our advice would be to take as much as you can afford. After all, the aim is to enjoy your trip, particularly if you are going on holiday. Additionally, you will avoid using credit or debit cards or having to exchange money abroad, which can attract expensive additional or hidden charges.

For transactions equal or up to 1000 euro, a demonstration of a valid certificate is NOT required.

For transactions from 1000-15.000 euro
You can buy or sell foreign exchange worth up to 15,000 euro with the following certificates:

• Greek Police Identity
• Passport
• EU citizen Identity
• Alien residence permit
• Refugee ID card of Greek
• Version
• Travel document

For transactions over 15.000 euro, the tax return statement and a BPO (Public Businesses and Organizations) account are required.

Any cash remained you can return it to us. By going to the nearest “Acropole Exchange S.A.” store you can exchange foreign currency purchased from us, in euro or your currency.
